All proceeds from our fund-raising events go towards our constant endeavours to provide additional equipment and services for those cared for by the staff at the Nightingale Macmillan Unit, London Road, Derby.

The need for equipment and services is always present and any help you can offer is always welcome.

 		 Fund Raising Event
We are always pleased to hear from individuals, businesses and organisations who are willing to help us fund raise. Generous donations in the past have included items such as tickets for Derby County football matches, airline flights, cars (courtesy of the Derby Eagle Centre Market Traders), and Royal Crown Derby China. Others have helped raise funds by kindly donating their time and services to hold events such as a slide show, choir and band concerts, (currently The Dalesmen Male Voice Choir and Derwent Brass).

If you are unable to donate your time to help you can still participate by visiting us at our fund raising events and perhaps purchase some of the items we have for sale or buy tickets for our tombola and raffle prizes.

Donations - Online
It may be that you or your organisation would like to either fund raise or make a general or in memoriam donation to the Friends of the Nightingale Macmillan Unit in order to benefit the patients in the Unit and this can be done through justgiving, an organisation who collect the funds and also reclaim the Gift Aid through the Inland Revenue, on our behalf. As an example an individual or organisation may take part in a half marathon and people who wish to sponsor  the particular event can do this by direct online contact with justgiving as follows:-

Please consider completing  a 'GIFT AID DECLARATION'. Using Gift Aid means that for every £ you give, our charity will be able to claim an extra 28 pence from the INLAND REVENUE, thereby helping your kind donation to go further. This means that £10 can be turned into£12.80, just so long as donations are made through Gift Aid. Imagine what a difference that could make to us by being able to supply services and equipment to those cared for by the Unit much quicker than would otherwise have been possible and it costs you nothing. This has been available to us since 6th April 2000.

The 'GIFT AID DECLARATION' is a very simple form to complete and will take less than two minutes.

Donations - Other
We are constantly in need of good quality and new items suitable for Tombola or Raffle prizes. So, if you are having a spring clean and have any items that you do not need any more, and are new and you think suitable for us to incorporate in our Tombola/Raffle, please contact one of the two telephone numbers below and we will endeavour to arrange collection. 

Become a 'Friend'
You can become a member of the Friends of the Nightingale Macmillan Unit and receive a newsletter which keeps you informed of the Friends fund raising events and current projects.

The membership fee is just £2.00 (two pounds) per annum  to cover printing costs and postage. (Our year commences 1st April)
