We had a Table Top with our usual good quality items of Bric-a-Brac also our own Logo Items. Since we did not know, at the time, if storage facilities at the City Hospital were going to be available, we had more than our usual quantity of stock on show  and therefore there were many bargains on offer.

CHARITY CONCERT

Saturday 28th March - Landau Forte, Fox Street, Derby 7.30pm

"Because it was the 21st concert by Derwent Brass we wanted to mark the occasion in some way and a 21st Anniversary Cake was presented to Keith Leonard by the Chairman of the 'Friends' Roy Poole, for all those associated with Derwent Brass to share."

In view of the above and with the evening being given over solely to Derwent Brass, you guessed it, a full house again we had a really excellent evening of the finest music that the band has in it's repertoire which ranged from  Dance of the Tumblers and Dances With Wolves to Eleanor Rigby and Lady Madonna and onto A Night in Havana and Somewhere (from West Side Story).

THE EVENING RAISED £1,167

CASH COLLECTION - SAINSBURY SUPERMARKET - KINGSWAY

Saturday 8th August - 9am to 5pm

A cash collection was held on the above date, which was assisted by a banjo/ukulele duo and as a result £837  was raised through the generosity of Sainsbury's customers.

MAYOR'S COFFEE MORNING

Friday 2nd October - Mayor's Parlour, Council House, Derby 10am - 12 noon

The 'Friends had their Annual Coffee Morning in the Mayor's Parlour. There was our quality bric a brac, christmas cards, tombola, home made cakes and a raffle in addition to the refreshments. We also received donations on the day resulting in a total raised of £668.

CHARITY CHRISTMAS CONCERT

Saturday 5th December - Landau Forte, Fox Street, Derby 7.30pm

Another marvellous joyful evening was had by all and the theatre was full again, in fact the highestattendance yet to one of our concerts. Both DERWENT BRASS and THE DALESMEN MALE VOICE CHOIR did us proud. Obviously the evening was tinged with sadness being our last concert and infact the last fundraising event arranged by the 'Friends'.

A presentation was made to both Derwent Brass and the Dalesmen M V Choir for their contribution to the 'Friends' funds over the years with the proceeds achieving as follows: - Derwent Brass over £28,000 and the Dalesmen MVC contributing with £14,000 of that figure.

The proceeds from the evening was also the highest raised at one of our concerts - £1,483

DONATION COLLECTION

Tuesday 15TH & Friday 18TH December - Morrisons Supermarket, Sir Frank Whittle Way Derby

'Sounds Saxy' performed seasonal music at the supermarket between 2pm & 4pm to raise funds for the 'Friends'.
We are very grateful to the customers of Morrisons who supported us to the extent of £576
