TABLE TOP SALE Tuesday 1st July - DRI Main Foyer Area 9am - 4pm
We held a further table top with the usual good quality items and the last
opportunity to purchase The Table Top raised £231
CHILDREN'S PRIZE DRAW This year we have decided to have a Children's Prize Draw since we have had donated to us a number of items suitable for this occasion. Tickets were available from the beginning of May. Prizes included :- Dolls house and furniture, large lazy dog, various cuddly bears, Elliot the Elephant, Disney characters and wooden toy truck. The draw took place at the DRI on Tuesday 1st July at 3pm. All prize winners have been notified and prizes collected. The total raised was £406
DONATION COLLECTION Saturday 5th July - Park Farm Shopping Centre, Allestree, Derby 9am - 4pm The management of Park Farm Shopping Centre granted permission for us to hold a collection on the above date. Unfortunately the weather did not go kindly for us and there was a double collection booking on site, however we did raise £473.
CONCERT Monday 21st July - Queens Hall, London Road, Derby at 7.30pm The DERWENT VALLEY WIND BAND put on a concert entitled 'A Night At The Proms' and at the end of the evening's programme they played, of course, Jerusalem and Land of Hope and Glory with the audience singing heartily and waving their Union Jacks' in time with the music. Refreshments were available at the interval. The total sum donated was £365
MAYOR'S COFFEE MORNING Friday 3rd October - Mayors Parlour, Council House, Derby. 10am - 12 noon The Friends had their Annual Coffee Morning in the Mayor's Parlour on the above date. On sale was good quality bric-a-brac, homemade cakes, tombola, our logo items and it was the first opportunity to purchase our Christmas Cards etc. and tickets for our Annual Prize Draw. The sum raised was £411

TABLE TOP SALE Tuesday 2nd December - DRI Main Foyer Area 9am - 4pm There was a further table top with our usual good quality items of bric-a-brac also our own logo items including our range of Christmas Cards etc. This will also be another opportunity to purchase your Annual Prize Draw tickets before the draw takes place. The sum raised was £190
CHARITY CHRISTMAS CONCERT Friday 5th December - Landau Forte, Fox Street, Derby 7.30pm Further to the success's of our previous Christmas concerts we were able to arrange for both Derwent Brass and the Dalesmen Male Voice Choir to perform for us again which was almost another full house. We were very pleased to welcome the Mayor, Councillor Barbara Jackson and the wife of the Deputy Mayor who acted as her Consort for the evening. The audience had the opportunity to join in the Carols and were in full voice. A raffle was held and a very big thank you to all those who donated the prizes. The profit from the event was £1,209
DONATION COLLECTION Saturday 6th December - Park Farm Shopping Centre, Allestree, Derby 9am - 3pm We were invited to have a donation collection at Park Farm on the above date. A small group of musicians called "Sounds Saxy" provided a Christmas atmosphere playing famous Christmas Carols and this happened between 11am - 1pm. Father Christmas paid a visit and was very well received by the young children since he was giving away little presents and sweets. We met a lot of people and they were very generous to our cause. The sum raised was £1,083

The above two companies permitted "Sounds Saxy" perform seasonal music
between 2pm and 4pm
on their premises on behalf of the "Friends".
We are very grateful to "Sounds Saxy" since they raised the grand sum of £766
through the generosity of all the people attending Little Eaton Garden Centre
but more importantly the customers at Morrison's Supermarket who
were very generous.
We have also been fortunate in having our collection boxes, for a further
year, in the Eagle Centre Market which during the year raised £924 with grateful
thanks to all those stall holders who have supported us during the year. |
