PURCHASE OF SERVICES AND EQUIPMENT TO BENEFIT THE PATIENTS During a year the 'Friends' receive many requests from the Management of the Nightingale Macmillan Unit enquiring whether we could consider the funding of a particular service or item of equipment. The purchase of such would provide additional benefits to those cared for by the medical staff at the Unit and thereby improve their quality of life. In our last financial year £10,809 was spent and the major items were as follows:- Our main expenditure this last year was to fund the purchase of new specialised chairs for both the In patient and Day Patient areas. We also funded Oxygen Concentrators, Syringe Drivers, completed the Patio area outside the conservatory and provided outings for the Day Patients.
